TV presenter and actor Jason Karl is an established presenter of live and recorded television, a theatrical producer, owner of the UK’s first scare attraction company ‘AtmosFEAR!’, and author of nine books in a variety of genres (history, paranormal, witchcraft) including 'An Illustrated History of the Haunted World', 'The Secret World of Witchcraft' and 'Jason Karl's Great Ghost Hunt'.  He is a contributing author in several books including the 2010 release 'It's Only a Movie... Isn't It?' and featured in 'Celebrities Favourite Pets'.  His books have sold over 40,000 copies in international territories including Europe, America and Canada. He is a recognised face of alternative television, DVD and IPTV media productions and writes for various journals and publications. Jason first appeared on television aged 14 in the iconic award winning Anglia Television series ‘Knightmare’ which paved the way for his career in the entertainment industry. This was quickly followed with further childhood appearances including British Satellite Broadcasting’s ‘The Satellite Game’, the Walt Disney Pictures/Touchstone film ‘Three Men and a Little Lady’ and experience in production design at Shepperton Film Studios with HBO.

After studying theatre, photography, film and television and gaining his Equity card travelling the country in a variety of theatre shows in his early twenties, Jason rose to fame as a co-presenter on the Living TV show ‘Most Haunted’ and subsequently ‘Most Haunted Unseen’ both of which have been successfully syndicated to worldwide audiences. He has presented and appeared on a variety of television programmes and series in several genres including; Discovery Channel’s ‘Ghost Hunters’, ITV’s ‘Haunted Halloween Live’, BBC Jam's 'The Makeover Show', Virgin 1's 'Duncan Bannatyne's Seaside Rescue', Questico's 'The Circle TV', ‘Tineke’s Paranormal World’ (Holland), ‘Ghost Quest’ (Belgium)’, ITV’s ‘Strange But True Encounters’, ZDF1’s ‘Schlossgeister Mondan’ (Germany), the supernatural adventure gameshow ‘Spectre Inspectors’, Meridian TV’s ‘Perfectly Pets’, two DVD series' ‘Jason Karl’s High Spirits’ and 'Phenomena', and the controversial American television show 'Diana – Spirit of a Princess’ for ABC (USA) which reached over 30 million viewers across America.

Jason is a former Creative Director of television production company Pure TV for whom he produced ‘Haunted Homes’ – which he also presented, ‘Spellbound’ – a five part white magic self-help series, and ‘The TV Chef’ starring Julie Goodyear and Ken Morley which was shown at the Edinburgh Television Festival. Since 2000 Jason has been Creative Producer for ‘AtmosFEAR!’ – the UK’s first and most successful location based scare entertainment company which is celebrating its first decade of achievements in 2010.  In 2009 business guru Duncan Bannatyne selected Jason as his choice of attraction designer to undertake a complete re-imagineering of a failing tourist attraction as part of a TV series for Virgin 1, following Jason's design the attraction was re-opened receiving critical acclaim.  Under Jason’s leadership the company has produced a succession of high profile themed productions for a variety of blue chip clients including Walt Disney Pictures, Virgin Active, Merlin Entertainments and Mars. In December 2009 Jason wrote and directed 'Soulstice' a festive production based on Mummer's plays of the 15th century.  AtmosFEAR!'s most recent attractions 'Scare Kingdom Scream Park' - the UK's newest scream park and 'Buccaneer Bay & The Sunken Village of the Damned' have received wide television acclaim on the BBC and Virgin 1 television channels.

As a live broadcast television presenter, Jason has anchored over 1000 hours of content in a variety of genres on both terrestrial, satellite and international channels. He presented the UK’s first ever terrestrial ghost hunting show live on ITV1 and ITV2, introduced the controversial ‘Diana – Spirit of a Princess’ to thirty million viewers across the USA, and has presented live television on ‘QVC’ – the world’s premier shopping television network, gameshow channel ‘Jackpot TV’, ‘Yes TV’ and jewellery showcase ‘Gemtique’.  In 2009 Jason anchored an 8 part TV series called 'The Circle TV' from studios in Berlin and featuring the world's most famous medium Derek Acorah, and over 50 episodes of the IPTV light entertainment programme 'FIPtv'.

Jason regularly presents live events, makes public appearances and gives after dinner talks on a variety of alternative subjects. He is a member of British Actors Equity, The Spotlight (Presenters), The Chartered Institute of Journalists, The Pagan Federation, The Haunted House Association and co-founder of 'The Ghost Research Foundation', he is also a member of the board of BASHA (British Association of Scare & Haunted Attractions).

Jason is a regular writer for 'Ghost Voices Magazine’, 'Paranormal Magazine' and 'Haunted Magazine'. Since April 2009 he has been chief reporter on Scare Entertainment Television - an IPTV channel delivering on demand media content serving the scare entertainment industry around the world, he is also anchor presenter on FIPtv where he has hosted over 50 location based entertainment shows interviewing personalities including Ricky Whittle, BBC Radio 1's Aled, Heatwave and Skylla.  

Throughout 2010 Jason will present Gov TV, an online IPTV channel, host and produce OMG! TV, present 'Jason Karl's Haunt Hunters' and appear in award winning theatre producer Marisa Carnesky's 'Ghost Train' show in Blackpool.  He is currently writing his tenth book 'Lancaster's Haunted Heritage', due out October 2010 and will produce a raft of scare attractions with his company AtmosFEAR!, including 'MediEVIL' and 'Scare Kingdom Scream Park, which returns for its second year, he will also produce and direct a seasonal tour of Christmas production 'Soulstice'.  From September Jason will become a producer for  'Sinister Symphonies' - a UK based scare entertainment music supplier.

Jason lives in a haunted Georgian country house in rural Lancashire, which he has been renovating for the last three years. In his spare time he collects rare Disney historical memorabilia.
